Washington, D.C. (February 8, 2019) – Wheat growers across the country have experienced a multitude of challenges the past couple of years, with record low commodity prices, unfair trade practices in the global market, and a bigger than expected crop yield. To educate the Administration, Members of Congress, and their staff on just how expansive and important wheat is to the economy and to our food supply, the National Wheat Foundation (NWF) is hosting, for a second year in a row, a wheat industry educational event and reception next Thursday, February 14, 2019.

Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts will be attending a private preview from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Additionally, USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue’s Chief of Staff Ray Starling has also been invited to the private preview. Lastly, NAWG will be presenting our “Wheat Leader of the Year” Award to Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) during the reception.
