About the Contest

The National Wheat Foundation hosted the National Wheat Yield Contest for the first time in 2016 and was well-received by wheat growers across the United States, offering growers the opportunity to compete with their peers. The contest allows growers to share and learn innovative techniques to improve wheat productivity on their farms to ensure an ample supply of quality U.S. wheat to reliably meet the needs of the domestic wheat market and our foreign customers.

Objectives

Improve the overall productivity, quality and marketability of the US Crop

Educate and communicate to all segments of the wheat industry the importance of yield, quality, and profit

Develop best management practices to achieve high yield, high quality, and higher profit

Thank you for participating in the 2023 National Wheat Yield Contest. Check back in 2024 for updated information on next year’s contest.

The contest is divided into two divisions for winter and spring wheat with subcategories for dryland and irrigated operations in each division, respectively.

Any wheat grower 14 years old and up and a member of a state wheat grower organization or NAWG will be eligible to participate in the contest.

The National Wheat Yield Contest Winners have been announced for the eighth year the National Wheat Foundation has held the contest.
