National Wheat Foundation (NWF) Hires Project Manager
Osborne will lead the National Wheat Yield Contest and other Foundation activities
Washington D.C. (January 5, 2021) – The National Wheat Foundation (NWF) is announcing a new hire to take over the official responsibilities of the National Wheat Yield Contest (NWYC) and carry out educational projects for the organization. Anne Osborne, formerly a sales agronomist for the Farmers Union Oil Coop, will be replacing Steve Joehl, Director of the National Wheat Yield Contest, who is retiring early 2021.
“We are pleased to bring Anne Osborne on board, not only as the new face and voice of the National Wheat Yield Contest, but also as a manger of the daily operations of the Foundation,” stated Foundation Board Chairman David Cleavinger. “Anne’s background in agronomy and in experience in leadership roles make her an asset to the Foundation. The Foundation Board is confident that she will successfully carry out the goals and mission of the organization, and will continue to build on the widely regarded reputation of the National Wheat Yield Contest.”
Osborne has worked in North Dakota in agriculture for 30 years. Her experience includes crop protection sales, inside sales, and customer service with DuPont Company. Osborne has also served and held leadership positions on many boards and committees such as North Dakota Corn Growers, Advanced Crop Advisors Workshop Committee, Ag in the Classroom, and Board of Pensions for the Dakotas United Methodist Church. She has also worked directly with growers on seed, fertilizer, crop inputs and services in ag retail for several years.
“The Project Manager position with National Wheat Growers Foundation is an exciting opportunity because it gives me the chance to work with pioneering growers,” stated Anne Osborne, Foundation Project Manager. “I look forward to interacting with wheat growers and National Wheat Yield Contest participants from across the country as they strive to find new and innovative ways to transform wheat farming. Further, I am pleased to join the National Wheat Foundation as it is updating its strategic plan, and look forward to working with the Board to carry out its new vision for the organization.”
